Hornet and local cruising directories document the scene; increased federal security and police crackdowns have reduced activity, but the park trails still offer seclusion. The National WWI Museum and Memorial is a major landmark at 2 Memorial Drive. Kansas City has no coastal beach culture — this is the region's best-known historic outdoor meeting ground.
