Cruising in Spain: Madrid, Sitges, and the Maspalomas dunes

A summer park in Madrid, a seafront in Sitges, and a winter-capable dune beach in the Canaries.

Spain on Crusit is three trips that should not be planned as one mood.

Madrid in the heat

Casa de Campo is the summer park, west of the centre. Metro to Lago, then the clothing-optional area behind the lake. The limiting factor is temperature and water, not a dress code. The rest of the park is enormous and mostly irrelevant.

Sitges in season

Bassa Rodona is the gay beach on the town seafront, a walk from the bars. It is visible from the promenade. That is the point in July and a reason to lower your expectations in November.

Maspalomas when you want a beach in February

The dunes at Kiosk 7 are the long-standing focal point, with the Yumbo Centre for after dark. The climate is why people go outside August. The wind is why some of those days still fail. The dunes are protected. Stay with the established stretch.
